Ballet is a very highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French Terminology. It is an artistic dance, which uses precise and highly formalised set steps and gestures. We follow the I.S.T.D syllabus in class, the syllabus promotes the English Classical style of Ballet and addresses the changing needs of Ballet Dancers today.
Tap has evolved as an American Dance form, popularised throughout the world by fantastic dancers such as Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Tap dancing uses the foot to strike the floor, creating a beat and making different rhythms. We follow the I.S.T.D syllabus, which really helps the children to break down beats and rhythms easily making tap fun and enjoyable.
Modern is a rhythmic dance style. It is often seen on stage in musical theatre productions, its energetic and technical. We follow the I.S.T.D syllabus in class, which is full of steps, turns, kick and leaps making us into well-rounded technical dancers.
Street Dance and Jazz is an upbeat, fun class where children get the chance to learn new skills in dance. The children will learn routines from famous singers in the charts: Bruno Mars, JLS and Beyonce, Justin Beiber, The Wanted, One Direction and many more! This form of dancing became popular in the 80’s and 90’s when music videos were being made and viewed worldwide.
Musical Theatre is a fun class, which takes dance, singing and acting and fuses them all together. In this class we look at fantastic West End and Broadway musicals that are on stage at the moment or have been in the past. We learn songs and scripts from the Musicals and add our own fantastic dance routines to them.
